]]> http://dignifieddwellings.com/?feed=rss2&p=323 0 Great News For Austin, TX Real Estate http://dignifieddwellings.com/?p=316 http://dignifieddwellings.com/?p=316#comments Sun, 23 May 2010 19:17:46 +0000 Dignified Dwellings http://dignifieddwellings.com/?p=316 That’s right folks…Austin homes sales are up…not just a little but by 31% and condos are up a whopping 63% percent.  Many of you might be wondering what that could be from.  I would say that a majority of these increase can be attributed to the tax credit as mentioned in the article, but I also think that a lot of this uptick can be directly tied to the time of year we find ourselves in.

My experience is that starting with April you start to see the market really warm up for the summer season.  There are definitely patterns in regards to market activity and it looks like 2010 got a shove in the right direction with the tax credit.  Will the momentum continue?  I think it’s a wait and see kind of game at this point, but I do believe that as in any market, proper pricing and effective property presentation, homes will sell.  But I also feel like many buyers will hold off on making a rushed decision now that there are no long tax credit incentives to motivate purchasing.

That all being said, there is a lot of choice for buyers in this market and interest rates are still extremely favorable.  This is the time to buy.  I do feel that Austin’s “depressed market” (if you can even call it that) is about to come to an abrupt halt and people will once again be competing for houses and creating a more balanced market between buyers and sellers.
